Google has just introduced a new feature in the Google Gemini app that quietly (but meaningfully!) changes how presentations can be created.

With Canvas, Gemini can now generate full slide presentations from a simple text prompt or an uploaded document. The slides come complete with structure, a visual theme, and relevant images, and can be exported directly to Google Slides for refinement and collaboration.

Inside the Gemini app, users can now:

  • Open Canvas

  • Ask Gemini to “create a presentation”

This shifts presentations from a blank-slide exercise to a clarity-first starting point.
